OUR WHY
Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because of which He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth in deliverance the oppressed. (BLB)
The anointing is not upon us to be spiritual but to bring FREEDOM. One of the purposes of the anointing is to bring DELIVERANCE.
If the Gospel is not being preached to the poor, they will remain in that state. The scripture is not just speaking about a physical state but rather referring to a poor spiritual state.
If a person remains in a poor spiritual state for too long, it will cause them to become brokenhearted. This ultimately can lead to them being crushed and consumed in their pain.
If the broken-heartedness is not dealt with, it will cause a further downward spiral, which will cause the devil to take them captive. Once a person has reached this place, deliverance becomes a necessity.
Jesus cast out demons everywhere He went, yet deliverance is still not practised much in the Body of Christ today.
Deliverance is part of the gospel.
This is the reason that Jesus came, to set the captives free, not just from hell but from demons that keep people bound up.
